Gulzar's poetry is multidimensional. His poetry arises questions that have threats, fears and doubts. It also has messages of hope, encouragement and optimism which do not put   man into despair. Not only the poems of  "Panddra Panch Pachhattar"   but whole of his poetry is full of diverse colours. It not only contains longings of heart but also the pain created by social injustice which not only delimits one to beloved's beauty but also makes one aware of the worldly tragedies. This individuality distinguishes Gulzar from other contemporary poets. Pain and deprivation of the society, poor, suppressed and working class, the cruel master inflicting miseries on the downtrodden who is sometimes a feudal lord and other occasions a capitalist or a cleric who loots in the name of religion. In short, the ever-changing canvas of the Indian society with all of its cruelty and beauty can be seen in Gulzar's poetry
