Faiz Ahmed Faiz is a renowned progressive poet as well as a critic. He served in army for four years. He was also a journalist. He was the part of British army during Second World War. He reached the rank of Major and then he became Lieutenant Colonel. His poetry is a combination of sorrows of beloved and sorrows of society. He is recognised by his unique poetic diction.
