In this paper, a hierarchical decision making framework based on multi-criteria decision making approach is presented to prioritize the wind energy production farms located in Mediterranean sea region of Turkey. Some criteria such as economic, technical, and environmental are considered for the evaluation model. In addition, an artificial neural network (ANN) model based on back propagation neural network (BPN) is also used to assess the alternative sites for wind energy generation. A comparison between proposed approaches is made to select the most appropriate wind energy production farm.
