Bu araştırma, Tekirdağ İlinden alınan farklı fiziksel ve kimyasal özelliklere sahip 20 adet toprağa uygulanan ürenin topraklardaki nitrat-N'u ve amonyum-N'u oluşumuna etkisini belirlemek amacıyla laboratuarda yürütülmüştür. İnkübasyon denemesinde toprağa 500 mg kg"1 N üre formunda çözelti şeklinde uygulanmış ve 28 gün inkübasyona bırakılmıştır. İnkübasyonun Î.(G1), 7.(G2), Î4.(G3) ve 28.(G4) günlerinde alınan toprak örneklerindeki amonyum-N ve nitrat-N belirlenmiştir. İnkübasyon denemesi sonunda, topraklardaki toplam mineral azot miktarı saptanmış ve daha sonra toprağa uygulanan üre azotunun dönüşümleri oransal olarak hesaplanmıştır.
