Verbascum faik-karaveliogullarii Çıngay & Cabi (sect. Bothrospermae) is described as new to science from Hâkkari province (SE Anatolia, Turkey). This new species shows affinities to both Verbascum afyonense from inner Anatolia and Verbascum spectabile var. isandrum from N Anatolia. Its connections to and diagnostic differences from these species are discussed.
