Effects of plant density and pruning on the yield and fruit quality of eggplant (Solanum melongena cv. Togo F1)

Araştırma, farklı dikim sıklığı, (45cm, 35 cm ve 25 cm sıra üzeri mesafesine göre sırasıyla; 2.469, 3.174 and 4.444 bitki m-2 ) ve budama (kontrol, 2, 3 ve 4 ana dal) uygulamalarının patlıcanda verim ve kaliteye etkisini araştırmak amacıyla, 2012 yılı ilkbahar yaz döneminde, ısıtılmayan PE serada yapılmıştır. Dikim sıklığı uygulaması ana parsellere, budama uygulaması ise alt parsellere dağıtılarak, deneme bölünmüş parseller deneme desenine göre kurulmuştur. Denemede dikkate alınan kriterlerin hiç biri üzerine bu iki faktörün interaksiyonunun etkisi istatistikî olarak önemli bulunmamıştır. 4 ana dal X 45 cm sıra üzeri mesafesi (2.469 plant m-2 ) interaksiyonuna ait bitkilerden 3.016 kg m-2 ile, 3 ana dal X 45 cm sıra üzeri mesafesi (2.469 plant m-2 ) interaksiyonuna ait bitkilerden ise 3.007 kg m-2 ile en yüksek toplam verimler alınırken, en yüksek erkenci verim, 1.783 kg m-2 ile, 3 ana dal X 45 cm sıra üzeri mesafesi (2.469 plant m-2 ) interaksiyonuna ait bitkilerden elde edilmiştir. Verim ve meyve kalitesi üzerine ana dal sayısının ana etkisi, kontrol ile karşılaştırıldığında, istatistiki olarak önemli olmasa da, pozitif olmuştur. Dekarda toplam ve erkenci verim üzerine, dikim sıklığı ana etkisi, istatistikî olarak anlamlı bulunmasa da, elde edilen verilere dayanarak, birim alandaki bitki sayısının azalması halinde erkenci verimin arttığı söylenebilir. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre, 45 cm sıra üzeri mesafesi (2.469 plant m-2 ) ile birlikte, ana dal sayısının 3 ila 4 ile sınırlandırılması, ilkbahar-yaz döneminde, yüksek PE tünelde, patlıcan yetiştiriciliğinde önerilebilir.The split plot design using 3 planting density (2.469, 3.174 and 4.444 plant m-2 ), being the main plots and 4 pruning application at no restriction of main branch (control), 2, 3 and 4 main branch , being subplots, was set up to investigate the effects of plant density and pruning on yield and fruit quality of eggplant, during spring-summer growing period in a high PE tunnel, in 2012. None of the 2 factor interactions between the criteria studied were significant. The 2 factor combinations of 4 main branch X 45 cm planting space within the rows (2.469 plant m-2 ) and 3 main branch X 45 cm planting space within the rows (2.469 plant m-2 ) resulted in the highest total yields with 3.016 kg m-2 and 3.007 kg m-2 , respectively, while only the 2 factor combinations of 3 main branch X 45 cm planting space within the rows resultes in the highest early yield with 1.783 kg m-2 . While it was not statistically significant, the main effect of number of main branch had the positive effect on yield and fruit quality in comparison to the control. However the main effect of plant density was not statistically significant on total and early yield da-1 , data suggested that early yield tended to increase with the decreasing plant density. Due to the results presented here, resricting of main branch to 3 or 4 together with 2.469 plant m-2 (45 cm within the rows) recommended to grow eggplant during spring-summer growing period in a high PE tunnel
