In the current study, the colour vitality, wash, rubbing and diaphoresis fastness were evaluated for cotton substrates with and without anionic (tannin) mordanting. It was found that pre-mordanting with tannic acid affect both the colour characteristics andfastness properties of the cationic dye. Overall, mordanting with tannic acid gave the best results in terms of both colour vitality and fastness properties
