In the present study, the removal of lead (Pb)(II) ions from aqueous solutions was investigated. Experimental investigations were undertaken using the ion-exchange resins Amberjet 1200 H (strongly acidic cation exchange resin) and Lewatit CNP 80 (weakly acidic cation exchange resin). The batch removal of Pb(II) from aqueous solutions under different experimental conditions was used in this study. The effects of initial pH and contact time on the uptake of Pb(II) ions have been studied. The maximum percentage of metal removal was attained after about 4 h. The uptake of Pb(II) ion showed pH dependency. The resins were more selective at pH 3 for Pb(II). The adsorption of Pb(II) onto the resins followed well Freundlich and D-R isotherms
