Amrita Pritam was a prominent famous poetess of Punjabi language and literature. She had a great affection for Punjab, the culture of Punjab and women of Punjab. Amrita Pritam has closely observed the life of a Punjabi woman and revealed artistically the miseries, thoughts, role, problems, character of a women living and facing life and its different shades in the rural area of Punjab.
