Urdu Dictionary Board has successfully completed the editing and publishing of its 22-volume Urdu dictionary on historical principles, recording the largest number of entries ever enlisted in any Urdu dictionary. But it lacks certain citations/explanatory quotations for some specific words/phrases/idioms. Since the revision of the 22 volumes is about to begin, the article offers some important explanatory quotations, with a view to help the board, with reference to a work of literature whereby such usages are authenticated
