Maulana Altaf Hussain Hali is one of the pioneers of modern Urdu poetry. He has same status in prose writing in urdu literature. Hayat -e-Sadi ,Yadgar-e- Ghalib, Hayat- e- Javed, Muqadamma-e-Shero-Shairi,Essays and his letters are the main examples of his prose writing.Hali wrote many articles besides full-fledged books. These were published in 1902amp;1934 under the titles of Muzameen -e-Hali and Miqalat-e-hali.
