Composición química y propiedades físicas de los fluidos geotermales del complejo volcánico San Cristóbal - Casita Nicaragua

The San Cristóbal volcano is the highest and one of the most active volcanoes in Nicaragua. It is located in the Volcanic Complex that bears its name and includes five volcanic structures: San Cristóbal, Casitas, Chonco, oyotepe and La Pelona. San Cristóbal is the most active of the group. It emits gases continuously and from time to time there is seismic activity around it. In the present study, a sample of waters around the volcanic building that had some hydrothermal alterations (temperatures above room temperature) was carried out, after the analysis of the samples it was observed that the water samples had a pH of 6.5 slightly acidic and Temperatures on average of 50 ° C in two of the three studied sites, on the other hand, were characterized the waters studied as of meteoric origin shallow convectively heated by a source of magmatic origin this due to their high concentrations of bicarbonates which Oscillate between 140 and 350 mg / kg evidenced in the ternary and Pipper diagrams.El volcán San Cristóbal es el más alto y uno de los más activos de Nicaragua, se encuentra ubicado en el ‘Complejo Volcánico que lleva su nombre, y comprende cinco estructuras volcánicas: San Cristóbal, Casitas, Chonco, oyotepe y la Pelona. El San Cristóbal es el más activo del grupo. Este emite gases continuamente y de vez en cuando hay actividad sísmica a su alrededor. En el presente estudio se realizó un muestreo de aguas alrededor del edificio volcánico que presentaban algunas alteraciones hidrotermales (temperaturas superiores a la temperatura ambiente), luego de los análisis de las muestras se pudo observar que las muestras de aguas presentaban pH de 6.5 ligeramente ácidos y temperaturas en promedio de 50°C en dos de los tres sitios estudiado, por otro lado, se caracterizaron las aguas estudiadas como de origen meteórico poco profundas calentadas de manera convectiva por una fuente de origen magmático esto debido a sus altas concentraciones de bicarbonatos los cuales oscilan entre 140 y 350 mg/kg evidenciadas en los diagramas de ternarios y de Pipper
