MONITORAMENTO E REMOÇÃO DE ANTI-INFLAMATÓRIOS EM ESTAÇÃO DE TRATAMENTO DE ESGOTO COM LAGOAS DE ESTABILIZAÇÃO

The monitoring of residual drugs in the environment has been gainingattention, as they are frequently detected in sewage treatment plants (STP)and reach the water bodies. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluatethe presence, concentration and percentage of anti-inflammatory removalin samples of raw sewage and treated effluent from the sewage treatmentplant of Dracena-SP. Two collection points were assessed at the STP namedP1 (raw sewage) and P2 (treated effluent). The collections and analyses wereperformed from March 2017 to February 2018. The samples were preparedby dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction and analyzed by high performanceliquid chromatography. The presence of the drugs diclofenac, ibuprofen andnaproxen was detected in the two analyzed points of the STP. Ibuprofen wasthe compound with the highest concentration in raw sewage (95.92 μgL-1).In winter months, the lowest concentrations of anti-inflammatory drugs inthe raw sewage and the lowest percentages of drug removal in the STP wererecorded. In July, ibuprofen and naproxen were not detected in P1 nor P2.The presence of these drugs in raw sewage is attributed to the disposal of medicines in sinks and toilets, as well as excretion via faeces and urine with drug residues that are not fully absorbedby the human body. The treatment of domestic sewage through stabilization ponds does not completely remove theseanti-inflammatories, providing the input of these substances in surface waters, altering their quality.O monitoramento dos fármacos residuais no ambiente vem ganhandoatenção, pois são frequentemente detectados em estações de tratamentode esgoto (ETE) e atingem os corpos hídricos. Portanto, o objetivo destetrabalho foi avaliar a presença, a concentração e a porcentagem de remoçãode anti-inflamatórios em amostras de esgoto bruto e efluente tratado da ETEdo município de Dracena (SP). Foram avaliados dois pontos de coletas naETE denominados de P1 (esgoto bruto) e P2 (efluente tratado). As coletas eanálises foram realizadas nos meses de março de 2017 a fevereiro de 2018.As amostras foram preparadas por microextração líquido–líquido dispersivae analisadas por cromatografia líquida de alta eficiência. A presença dosfármacos diclofenaco, ibuprofeno e naproxeno foi detectada nos doispontos analisados da ETE. O ibuprofeno foi o composto que apresentou amaior concentração no esgoto bruto (95,92 μg.L-1). Nos meses de inverno,foram registradas as menores concentrações dos anti-inflamatórios noesgoto bruto e as menores porcentagens de remoção dos fármacos na ETE.No mês de julho, o ibuprofeno e o naproxeno não foram detectados em P1nem em P2. A presença desses fármacos no esgoto bruto é atribuída aodescarte de medicamentos em pias e vasos sanitários, além da excreção viafezes e urina com resíduos de fármacos que não são totalmente absorvidospelo organismo humano. O tratamento de esgoto doméstico por meio delagoas de estabilização não remove totalmente esses anti-inflamatórios,propiciando o aporte dessas substâncias nas águas superficiais, alterandosua qualidade
