POLA ASUH ORANG TUA TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN KOGNITIF ANAKTUNARUNGU DI TKLB-B

ABSTRACTDeaf children cognitive skill is affected by various factors. One of them is environment. Parents athome is the first and the main educator for the children. Therefore, parenting will affect the children’s cognitiveskill in the future. This research aims to analyze the effect of the parenting for the children’s cognitive skill atDharma Wanita kindergarten for special needs childrens B Sidoarjo.Considering the research types which has been chosen, this research uses non-experimental research.This research uses quantitative research. It is correlational research by using expost facto design. SpearmenRank is used to analyze the data.The data is collected through questionnaire and test. The data which has been collected has beenanalyzed. It shows that the result of Rs is 0.192. After conducting statistic test, tH = 0.51. It is smaller than thecritical score of t distribution, t = 5%. The n-2 = + t0.025 df 7 is 2.365. It means that Ha is rejected dan Ho isaccepted. Therefore, there is not significant correlation between parenting and deaf children’s cognitive skill atDharma Wanita kindergarten for special needs children B Sidoarjo.Keywords : parenting, deaf children, cognitive skil
