Introduction: Emergence of multidrug resistant nosocomial enterococcus strains emphasizes the need for further investigating enterococci. Objectives: To characterize enterococci from various clinical specimens, to determine the antimicrobial susceptibility pattern and to explore the association between virulence factors and antimicrobial resistance.
