This paper contributes to find alternative solutions to an important problem: the determination of residential flexibility. In thiscase, the necessary flexibility is achieved through loads with storage capabilities and, consequently, a high potential for DemandResponse (DR): Thermal Energy Storage Loads (TES). A representative TES load for residential segments has been fullymonitored in the laboratory to develop and validate a Physically-Based Model which allows conducting the evaluation of mainDR options. Moreover, the model provides aggregators an insight on how they can modify or limit the flexibility of demand,and how to deal with these specific characteristics and limitations.
