The relationship between nurses professional experience and the tendency of having anxiety and depression disorder during covid-19 pandemic

In March 2020, Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) was declared a pandemic that caused by a virus outbreak, and has now become a highest concern for all countries worldwide. Nurses who took an oath to serve and help people, have the higher risk to COVID-19 infection due to frequent contact with infected individuals. Moreover, psychological illnesses, specifically anxiety and depression disorder, are some of the main problems that employed nurses are experiencing. This study aims to determine the correlation of employed nurses¶ professional experience and the tendency of having anxiety and depression during the COVID-19 pandemic. The researchers adapted three questionnaires that were given to 100 employed nurses working during this pandemic within the Philippines through an online survey. Chi-square test was used to correlate these data. It was then determined from the chi-square results that the nurses have a positive experience at work (96.0%) and showed low levels of anxiety and depression. As indicated in the results of this data analysis, it was revealed that there is a significant relationship between nurses\u27 professional experience and their psychological status, specifically the tendency to be anxious and depressed during the COVID- 19 pandemic
