Le Quercus rubra a été introduit en Europe depuis la fin du 17ème siècle. Il est largement distribué sur tout le continent et il y est considéré comme une espèce envahissante dans certains pays. Dans ce travail, les auteurs ont étudié la distribution de la diversité génétique au sein de populations indigènes et introduites en vue de retracer l’origine des populations introduites. Un échantillon composé de 883 individus, provenant de 73 sites indigènes et 38 sites européen, a été génotypé pour 69 marqueurs SNP.
