Background: Early and accurate detection of carbapenemase-producing Enterobacterales (CPE) is fundamental to prevent their spread in hospital environment. Our objective was to compare between four commonly used phenotypic assays and Check-Direct CPE (CDCPE) multiplex PCR in CPE detection.
