Toxoplasmosis which is caused by Toxoplasma gondii, has a high risk of fetal infection development if the infection occurs during pregnancy. Since beta-glucan is known to stimulate the immune system and increase the phagocytic activity of the cells, it has been shown to exhibit immunomodulatory effect on many infectious diseases.
