[Purpose] The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between depressive symptoms and physical performance of mothers of children with different types of disability. [Subjects] Twenty-three mothers of children with mental and motor retardation, 21 mothers of children with Down syndrome, 16 mothers of children with motor retardation, 12 mothers of children with mental retardation, and 20 mothers of healthy children were included in this study. [Method] Depressive symptoms were evaluated using the Beck Depression Inventory. Physical performance was evaluated using the Fifty-Foot Walk, and the Sit to Stand and Bend Forward Tests.
