Gender Dysphoria is a condition that is characterized by incongruence between the experienced gender and the natal sex. They want to live and be accepted as a member of the other sex. Gender transitioning is the name given to the medical intervention that transforms a woman into a man or a man into a woman. Legal regulation regarding gender transitioning in our country is given in the 40th article of the Turkish Civil Code numbered 4721. The person who wants to change his or her gender must be evaluated by the "Sexual Identity Council" in training and research hospitals or university hospitals. Medically detailed informed consent is important as gender transitioning procedures have largely irreversible consequences
