hi this study, the thermomechanical stresses and deformations of a SiC-Graphite crucible which are generated when the crucible lifted by a crane were calculated by the finite elements (FE)software, ANSYS. In the first stage of the work the geometrical- and FE-model of the crucible was created in accordance with the linear elastic behavior of the materials. The heat distribution on the crucible wall during the application was calculated by steady-state heat transfer analysis. Later a coupled structural analysis was carried out from the results obtained in heat transfer analysis and from the mechanical loads, which occurred after lifting the crucible.
