In spite of the best treatment, 30–50% of stroke survivors are left with significant physical and/or psychological disabilities and consequent decline in quality of life (QOL). The silver lining is that up to 80% of stroke survivors can become independent in activities of daily living with adequate rehabilitation. Rehabilitation with physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy offers a good opportunity to regain functional abilities. However, there is a shortage of neurorehabilitation (NR) programs across the globe, more so in resource-poor countries.
