Tachyarrhythmias are common in patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), in particular those with severe disease. However, newly diagnosed atrial fibrillation (AF) during the course of severe COVID-19 seems to have prognostic implications. In a case series of three patients with severe COVID-19 who developed new-onset AF, we present the clinical course and the outcome of the patients. Pertinent papers are discussed as well
