Purpose. This thesis explored the effectiveness of evidence-based psychological interventions for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities accessing Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services in England, UK. Methods. Multiple-methodologies were guided by the Transdisciplinary model of evidence-based practice. This included 1) a systematic literature review; 2) examination of predictors of recovery and therapeutic effectiveness; 3) exploration of whether therapies were suitable to BAME service users’ needs; and 4) exploration of IAPT practitioners’ cultural competency.
