Mulheres portuguesas na diáspora: a vez da bloguescrita

Abstract. The experiences of the Portuguese diaspora have changed significantly in the last two decades, not only due to the increase of mobility within the European Community and the social and economic changes enhanced by globalization, but also because of the exponential digital technological development and, in particular, of cyberspace. The ease of communication and broadcasting provided by public networks and operations on a global scale have produced a phenomenon which, by absorbing some of the characteristics of the “chronicle” and the “diary” as discursive modes or literary subgenres, has sometimes amounted to a laboratory of writing and even of intermedial representation. Processes of identity (re)construction and of inclusion arise in an imaginary/virtual space which transcends geographical borders and national communities, although they still refer to, and even exacerbate, them. In this context, I point out some characteristics of blogs written by Portuguese women in the diaspora, attempting to reveal the great changes, some questions, and the main social and cultural challenges which such experiences, be they more or less fleeting, of writing and reading present both for the configurations of identity (personal as well as collective) and for the verbal and artistic representation of exile and diaspora itself. As experiências da diáspora portuguesa têm-se alterado significativamente ao longo das últimas duas décadas não só devido ao incremento de mobilidade no seio da Comunidade Europeia e às mudanças socioeconómicas potenciadas pela globalização, mas também devido ao exponencial desenvolvimento tecnológico digital e, em particular, do ciberespaço. A facilidade de comunicação e de difusão proporcionadas pelo funcionamento em rede pública e à escala global fizeram emergir um fenómeno que, absorvendo algumas características da “crónica” e do “diário” enquanto modos discursivos ou subgéneros literários, tem por vezes representado um laboratório de escrita e até de representação intermedial. Configuram-se aí processos de (re)construção identitária e de inclusão num espaço imaginário/ virtual que transcende as fronteiras geográficas e as comunidades nacionais, ainda que continue a tê-las como referência, quando não mesmo a exacerbá-las. É neste âmbito que destaco algumas características de blogues de mulheres portuguesas na diáspora, procurando apontar as grandes mudanças, algumas questões e principais desafios socioculturais que tais experiências, mais ou menos fugazes, de escrita e de leitura apresentam tanto para as configurações identitárias (pessoais e colectivas) como para a própria representação verbal e artística do exílio e da diáspora.
