In the last decade (2001–2011) foreign population in Italy as tripled showing, from one hand, a strong tendency to become a structural phenomenon and, on the other hand, clear spatial patterns of distribution. Quite surprisingly just few study analyze foreign presence in Italy taking into account in a direct form the spatial dimension. Thanks to a GWR model in this contribution we study the geographical variation of the share of foreigners employed (y) within each of 110 Italian provinces (nuts 3) in function of some independent variables.
