We generate low-threshold supercontinuum spanning the wavelength range 1-2 μm in highly nonlinear and mechanically robust step-index chalcogenide nanotapers. The high indexcontrast improves the mode confinement and increases the waveguide dispersion in the nanotapers. © OSA 2013
