Accurate and reliable measurements of surface tension at the interface of immiscible phases are crucial to understanding various physico-chemical reactions taking place between those. Based on the pendant drop method, an optical (graphical)-numerical procedure was developed to determine surface tension and its dependency on the surrounding temperature. For modeling and experimental verification, chemically inert and thermally stable perfluorocarbon (PFC) oil and water was used. Starting with geometrical force balance, governing equations were derived to provide non-dimensional parameters which were later used to extract values for surface tension.
