Technologies for fiber nonlinearity management for spectrally-efficient high-speed optical transmission systems have been discussed from a carrier perspective. While optimal electrical dispersion management remains an effective method, new ultra-low-nonlinearity fiber could provide additional benefits. © 2011 Optical Society of America
