In this paper, multifunctional nanocomposites were developed by applying a carbon nanofiber paper based coating material on the surface of fiber reinforced composites. This unique coating material possesses good conductivity, excellent damping property, high hardness which leads to potential applications for lightning strike protection, vibrational damping, and surface erosion resistance for wind turbines blades. © 2010 by The International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE)
