High Frequency (HF) radio communications is widely used in many military and civilian applications. This paper presents a link calculation analysis of an HF communication link under varying solar and seasonal conditions. Analysis is presented for two aircraft that communicate over a 3,000 Km horizontal distance link using HF while the ionosphere undergoes changes in ionization levels due to solar activity. © 2007 IEEE
