This paper examines the main theses of Wittgenstein’s philosophy of psychology following, also in the light of the writings of the Nachlass, his itinerary from the transitional phase(1929-35) to the last period (1946-51). The aim of the first part of the paper is to outline Wittgenstein’s conception of “phenomenology”, a discipline which is “something midway between science and logic” and is dealing with problems of immediate experience by means of methods which are alternative to the truth-functional logic of the Tractatus.
