In this prospective observational study, treatment of dyslipidemia with type 2 diabetes mellitus was treated with rosuvastatin, atorvastatin and Pitavastatin. They were instructed to follow a healthy diet with proper exercise. After 3 months study it is observed that, all of the study drugs have good impact on serum cholesterol lowering. But Rosuvastatin 10 mg showed superior reduction in serum cholesterol when compared to atorvastatin 10 mg and Pitavastatin 10 mg. The second objective of the study was the safety of these drugs. No adverse events were noted with any of the three statins used. In conclusion, rosuvastatin was the more efficacious drug at reducing serum cholesterol
