INTRODUCTION: Periodontal regeneration is defined as the reproduction or reconstruction of lost or injured tissue so that the architecture, form and function of the lost structures are restored. Bone grafting is the most commonly used procedure to rebuild and regenerate lost bone due to periodontal disease. Synthetic alloplasts are most commonly used in recent times but the major drawback of these is that they are in a particulate form which makes transfer and packing into the osseous defect site difficult.
