The effort in the search for success is a key factor in the sports field and is influenced by several intrinsic and extrinsic factors to the sport and, in both cases, there are a strong presence of affective issues. Benedictus Espinosa (1632-1677), in his work Ethics, develops the influence of affectivity. For him, affections are directly associated with motor actions, and the relationship between human beings and the environment. We argue that sport, as it constitutes an unpredictable phenomenon, contributes to the constant alteration of affections, generating, by extension, implications in what is conceived by effort.
