Piccole scuole, ripensare la forme scolaire per un patto formativo allargato alla comunità e al territorio

Small schools are at the center of the crises that have affected the territories of inland areas and beyond, which have been exacerbated in the last two years in their effects by the COVID-19 pandemic. After returning to the socio-territorial scenario in which small schools operate, this research contribution questions the role  they are called to play in the light of the reflections on the change in school forms: we pass from a dominant educational model to a community school. The contribution presents the main theoretical constructs of the school of community and the most significant governance tools, borrowed from national and international experiences. The contribution takes into consideration the concrete actions that small Italian schools carry out together with local actors, through the analysis of community educational pacts. Finally, the analysis proposes an initial systematization of projects in order to identify those experiences oriented towards the development of extensive educational systems capable of innovating the alliance between school and territory.Le piccole scuole si trovano al centro delle crisi che hanno investito i territori delle aree interne e non solo, acuite negli ultimi due anni nei loro effetti dalla pandemia da COVID-19. Dopo aver restituito lo scenario socio-territoriale in cui operano le piccole scuole, questo contributo di ricerca si interroga in merito al ruolo che esse sono chiamate a svolgere alla luce delle riflessioni sul cambiamento della forme scolaire: si passa da un modello educativo dominante ad una scuola di comunità. Il contributo presenta i principali costrutti teorici della scuola di comunità e gli strumenti di governance maggiormente significativi, mutuati dalle esperienze nazionali e internazionali. Il contributo prende in considerazione le azioni concrete che le piccole scuole italiane realizzano insieme agli attori del territorio, attraverso l’analisi dei Patti educativi di comunità. L’analisi propone, infine, una prima sistematizzazione delle progettualità al fine di individuare quelle esperienze orientate allo sviluppo di sistemi educativi estesi in grado di innovare l'alleanza tra scuola e territorio
