Microteaching Observations

There are many different ways a successful lesson can be taught. This includes students’ contribution to the lesson, students asking relevant questions to the lesson and debating the material with peers. As studied throughout the semester, Professor Vedovelli's teaching unit based on the Common European Framework, Professor Aulino's model based on the Ontario curriculum along with Professor Mollica's teaching and language learning also contribute to how a good lesson should be taught. Lesson planning and teaching is something that can easily be looked upon as simple, useless or a waste of time. This essay will prove why those terms are false. It will illustrate how our two guest lectures, Marco Lettieri and Sara Galli, showcase the aforementioned teaching models and methods during their microteaching lessons. Microteaching is when teachers or professors present their lesson as a demonstration for observations and feedback. Microteaching is important not only for the students studying the lessons but also for the professors leading the lessons. Finally, this essay will provide personal observations and discuss in more detail the models we studied throughout the course of the semester
