This study aims to shed light on the literary works carried out by one of the greatest Venezuelan (female) writers, Antonieta Madrid, Valera, 1939. She is an author whose works have been paid scant attention in Europe despite her strengths as a writer and her intense activity as a diplomatic representative in different countries, even European ones. Her works and ideas are unknown in Europe due to the lack of translations and commented editions. This author has contributed giving voice to Venezuelan women through the words of her female characters –her rebel ideas lead her to denounce a political system which gave little space to women.
