The purpose of the Cooperative Youth Study undertaken in Wharton High School was to determine the needs, concerns, and interests of the participating students in order to plan a homemaking curriculum more effective than the one now being used. Data were collected concerning these students and their families. These youth are representative members of a community showing interest in land ownership for farming and ranching purposes. The small percentage of divorce indicated a stable family with four to five members living in an owned home.
