Fungsi Pengawasan Dinas Perhubungan Dalam Bidang Perparkiran Di Kabupaten Karimun

Parking is a necessity for vehicle owners who want a sense of security and their vehicles are parked in a place where the place is easy to reach. Therefore, Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2018 concerning Parking Management in Karimun Regency was issued. Parking management is an effort to organize, control, and regulate parking spaces. Meanwhile, the purpose of parking management is to ensure order, order and comfort for the environment around the parking lot. In order to achieve these aims and objectives, the Department of Transportation is required to carry out supervision and guidance in parking management. The location of this research was carried out in two parking locations in Karimun Regency, namely on Jalan Jendral Sudirman Tanjungbatu and Jalan Nusantara Tanjungbalai. The purpose of this study was to determine how the supervision carried out by the Department of Transportation in parking management in Karimun Regency and to determine the inhibiting factors for the Department of Transportation in parking supervision. This research method is descriptive qualitative, which is to describe objects that cannot be measured using numbers because the aim is to reveal events or facts, circumstances, and phenomena during the research. The indicators that are used to measure this research are: Standard Setting, Implementation Measurement, Comparison, and Correction. The results of this study indicate that parking supervision carried out by the Department of Transportation in Karimun Regency has not been effective. This is due to the lack of public knowledge regarding the existence of Regional Regulations regarding parking, and the implementation of several standards in these regulations such as the use of tickets and also the application of sanctions. As for things that need to be improved, it is expected that the Regional Government will provide sufficient budget for the implementation of parking supervision activities and provide adequate facilities and infrastructure
