Pengaruh Kepemimpinan Demokratis Kepala Madrasah Terhadap Kompetensi Profesional Guru Di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Teluk Dalam Kecamatan Kuala Kampar

This research was motivated by the teachers’ professional competence that happened to teachers at Islamic junior high school Teluk Dalam. Tachers’ professional competency problem related to teacher teach the lesson that different with their educational background, some of them are lack in using teaching media, lack of lesson material, teaching method that not suitable with the standard, and lack of work motivation in improving professional competency. The purpose in this research examined to know the influence of principal democratic leadership on teachers’ professional competence at Islamic junior high school Teluk Dalam Kuala Kampar district. This research used quantitative design with correlational approach. The population and sample were all teachers in this school in 20 persons. Data collection technique used questionnaire and documentation. This research consisted of two variables, X (democratic leadership) and Y variable (professional competency). Based on the result of hypothesis test analysis with significant score p = 0.007 < 0.05 explained Ha was accepted, it meant that there was any influence of principal democratic leadership on teachers’ professional competency at Islamic junior high school Teluk Dalam Kuala Kampar District. The influence number could be seen from summary table where R square score in 0.702 or 70.2%. it showed that professional competency was influenced by democratic leadership in 70.2% with strong category. It could be concluded from this research finding that there was any influence of principal democratic leadership on teachers’ professional competency at Islamic junior high school Teluk Dalam Kuala Kampar District
