Strategi Dinas Kepemudaan Olahraga Dan Pariwisata Dalam Mengembangkan Pariwisata Daerah Kota Dumai

This study aims to determine and describe the strategy of the Dumai City tourism office in developing the prospeous bay beach object and to determine the inhibiting factors for the development of the Teluk makmur Beach tourism object in Dumai City. The method in this study uses the theory of Edward Inskeep (1991:38), with a descriptive type with a qualitative approach, which prioritizes a list of interviews as a data collection tool as well as conducting observations and documentation. The result show that the tourism departments’s strategy in developing the prosperous bay beach tourism object can be said to have not been running optimally. This can be determined by the five indicators, namely Market Share, Tourist Attraction, Infrastructure, Accessibility, Facilities and Tourism Services namely the existence of obstacles in budgeting in the development of regional tourism objects, lack of public awareness of tourism awareness, and lack of supervision from the Tourism Office on tourism object development, properous bay coast
