Pola Pencegahan Terorisme Oleh Polda Riau Pasca Aksi Terorisme Di Polda Riau (Studi Kasus: Aksi Penyerangan 16 Mei 2018)

Terrorism is an extraordinary crime that has resulted in many victims in various parts of the world, including in Indonesia. This act of terrorism is very disturbing for the community, because it causes various damages to government facilities and buildings. In Indonesia, especially in Riau Province, there have also been various acts of terrorism which have resulted in many casualties, such as the attack that took place on 16 May 2018 and the Riau Regional Police Office which was the point of the action. After the attack, it could be said that there were no more acts of terrorism that occurred in the Riau area, because the terrorists had been caught before carrying out the attack. The research was conducted at the Riau Police Office, with the object of research being the pattern of preventing terrorism by the Riau Police after the terrorist act at the Riau Police. This research uses qualitative research methods using data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. Meanwhile, the analysis uses situational crime prevention theory. By using the three general steps of this theory, namely: creating a safety design, organizing effective procedures and developing a safe product. The result of this research is that the pattern of prevention carried out by the Riau Police in preventing acts of terrorism can be said to be effective, as evidenced by the arrest of the terrorists before carrying out the action
