Pengaruh Pandemi Covid-19 Terhadap Tindak Kejahatan Pencurian di Kecamatan Batang Cenaku Kabupaten Indragiri Hulu

A pandemic is a level of disease based on its spread. Covid-19 or corona virus is part of a family of viruses that cause disease in animals as well as in humans. Crime is an evil behavior or action that everyone can feel, that it is evil. Such actions can harm others morally and materially. The forms of crime that were mostly committed during the Covid-19 pandemic included: violent theft, weighted theft, motor vehicle theft, drug cases, and fraud. Cases of theft in the Batang Cenaku sub-district during this pandemic are also among those affected. Based on observations made, there are several cases caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. This significant change in society and the increasing economic difficulties of the community have become the main driving force for various wrong ways, one of which is the case of theft. Furthermore, the research method used in this study is a qualitative research which aims to describe the actual situation of what happened at the research location through interviews, observation, and documentation. In this case, the researcher has conducted interviews with the perpetrators of the crime of theft, victims of the theft case, Batang Cenaku police officers, and community leaders to describe the actual research results. The results of the research that have been carried out show that the Covid-19 pandemic has quite an influence on cases of theft crimes in the Batang Cenaku sub-district
