The Role Of Aviation Security In Crime Prevention In Airports (Study Sultan Syarif Kasim II Pekanbaru Airport ) ABSTRACT By : Arie Perdana Criminology is a very unique branch of science, because it not only discusses the crimes that occur but also discusses how the reactions caused by crimes. The discussion of criminology is also related to the prevention of crimes that happen at airports. Aviation security is a combination of human resources, procedures (regulations), then supporting facilities, where the three components are aimed at preventing crime in the world of aviation. Crimes in the world of aviation include crimes such as theft of goods and baggage, smuggling, stowaway, immoral acts, sabotage, falsification of identity, of course, with crimes like this, aviation security handles them in a fixed and standard way operational and applicable regulations. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the efforts made by aviation security in preventing crime at Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport in Pekanbaru? This research is a qualitative research which aims to describe what a situation is like at Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport Pekanbaru. By analysis, the answers to the formulation of the problem in this study are obtained, by using the theory of a crime prevention strategy approach, it is necessary to know what forms of aviation security efforts to prevent crime at airports are known
