In recent years great efforts have been made to increase the strength of the base cement with additives of a pozzolanic nature. Fly Ash (FA) has been known to increase cement strength due to its pozzolanic properties. This is because FA has high silica content and is also rich in Al2O3 and Fe2O3 content. FA can still be increased by combining FA with Nano CaCO3 material called nanocomposite, the ability of CaCO3 nanocomposites is expected to accelerate and react to form Calcium Sylicate Hydrate (CSH) so that cement becomes denser and stronger.
