Musik Tradisi Bardah Pada Masyarakat Melayu Riau Kampung Buatan II Kecamatan Koto Gasib Kabupaten Siak Provinsi Riau

The purpose of this study was to determine the elements of music and performances of the Bardah tradition in the Riau Malay community in Kampung Artificial II, Koto Gasib District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. The theory used in this study uses the theory of musical elements from (Aaron Copland, 1939:33) namely i) rhythm, ii) melody, iii) harmony, iv) timbre and the theory of performance elements from (Susetyo, 2007:9). ) namely i) musical instruments, ii) music players, iii) order of presentation, and iv) make-up. This research method uses qualitative research with data collection used are observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study are i) the elements of bardah music in the Malay community of Kampung Artificial II in each performance there is an element of rhythm starting with the first stroke with an eighth beat, harmony elements played with the third and fourth beats with simultaneous and fast strokes for a fast tempo. , while the element of harmony is to play together in their strokes on bardah music with cohesiveness so as to bring out the chord tones that match the song, ii) Bardah music performances in the Artificial II village, Koto Gasib District also shows that the performance begins with a musical instrument. which is made of wood, especially jackfruit wood with a wide and large shape from a tambourine, while the bardah music player consists of 12 people who have reached the age of adults and males, and the order of presentation begins with the leader's instructions in playing one tone which is then followed by the players. others, while fashion those who wear bardah music players are Malay clothes with songket cloth or sarongs with black caps
