Bentuk Penyajian Tari Payung Di Sanggar Tari Syofyani Kota Padang Sumatera Barat

ABSTRACT THE PRESENTATION OF TARI PAYUNG AT SYOFYANI STUDIO OF PADANG WEST SUMATERA DIAH JELITA 176710282 In this study, it is explained that the dance in question is one of the creative dances in the city of Padang under the auspices of the Sofyani Yusaf Studio, namely the Payung dance which is the object of this research. Syofyani Dance and Music Studio is a Minang art group that was born in the city of Bukittinggi since February 15, 1962. It was founded by Mr. Yusaf Rahman (deceased) and Mrs. Syofyani, both of whom are artists as music composer maestro and dance maestro. With two dance studios in Bukittinggi and in Padang he both developed and maintained traditions by teaching children and adolescents until now it has developed in the archipelago. Teory of this research was used the components of dance by Soedarsono. The results of this study indicate that the Umbrella Dance movement is a movement that is created like a dancing movement but is still gentle and has sharpness and strength. This Umbrella Dance floor design is arranged simultaneously by an even number of dancers. The musical accompaniment is accompanied by diatonic instruments including Talempong, Accordion, Violin and Guitar. All the harmonies are in the rhythm of Malay music or Malay Langgam, while the song lyrics are Babendi-bendi. The dramatic design used in the Umbrella Dance is related to pairs where in this dance it contains male dancers and female dancers who are paired with each other. For the theme of Umbrella Dance, the theme is depicting love and affection. The make-up and clothing used to dance this Payung Dance, the dancers wear typical Malay clothes while still considering comfort and politeness according to Minangkabau customs. Umbrella dance is played in the form of a theater that is arranged by presenting a narrative youth theme that can be displayed as a creative dance in entertainment and traditional events. The properties used by dancers in this Umbrella Dance are umbrellas and scarves
